A calm mind is a strong mind.
Practical mindfulness, movement and SEL skills for real kids, real families and real life.
Yoga Mouth gives kids and families a place to move, breathe, play, connect and practise the skills it takes to navigate being human: Awareness, Boundaries, Compassion and Discipline.
If your child has an IEP or a 504, lives with a disability, or is navigating neurodivergence, anxiety or the aftermath of something hard, this is built for them. Our programming is evidence-informed and deliberately non-clinical. It works before, alongside and after clinical services rather than in place of them.
It is also built for the grown-ups. Families who want to raise kids around other kind kids and caring adults tend to find each other here.
Take the trash out
before you crash out.
Big feelings happen. We teach kids practical ways to notice stress building, understand what their minds and bodies are telling them, and experiment with strategies before they become overwhelmed.
- Move.
- Breathe.
- Shake it out.
- Ask for space.
- Get support.
- Try again.
Not a lesson about feelings.
Repetitions.
- Recognising what is happening in their bodies
- Naming and navigating big feelings
- Asking for space and respecting boundaries
- Handling frustration
- Losing and trying again
- Recovering after conflict
- Moving between high energy and stillness
- Asking adults for support
- Supporting peers
- Repairing mistakes
- Practising compassion without removing accountability
- Finding mindful strategies that actually work for them
Notice before you react.
Mindfulness teaches a deceptively simple skill. For a child, that might sound like:
- My heart is pounding.
- I’m getting really frustrated.
- I want to yell.
- I need some space.
That space between feeling and reacting is something we practise again and again. We don't just tell kids how to regulate. We practise it with them.

Different brains. Different bodies.
Different communication.
Same right to belong.
Our programmes are designed to include children across developmental levels and abilities, with adaptations that preserve participation, dignity, challenge and connection.
Disability inclusion is our speciality, not an accommodation we bolt on. We partner with the Maryland School for the Blind and the Down Syndrome Association of Maryland, and we run classes built specifically for kids living with autism and other social-emotional learning needs.

Interactive programming that lets students and caregivers build shared language and practise regulation together.
Practise it with us.
Mindfulness works through practice, and kids shouldn't have to practise alone. Essex Kindness Club is Yoga Mouth's community home: an inclusive space where kids and families can move, play, connect, practise mindful skills and belong.
Memberships start at $50 a month, there is a sliding scale and a scholarship fund, and nobody has to explain themselves to use either.
